Job Description

Canopius Group is a global specialty lines (re)insurer and a leading insurer in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market. The Bordereaux Technician role is primarily responsible for supporting the processing and reconciling of risk, claims, and premium data, collaborating with agents and internal business units to ensure data quality and compliance with deadlines.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare incoming risk, claim and premium bordereaux for processing, including but not limited to translating to standard format
  • Provide quality assurance of risk and claims data by cleaning, filtering and running data control checks and validations using most appropriate and relevant methods
  • Work with agents, TPAs, vendors, underwriters, claims and finance to resolve data errors and omissions within reasonable time frames to meet the strict monthly closing schedules
  • Run queries as needed to identify inconsistencies in bordereaux data
  • Perform data reconciliation between the source files and various systems of record
  • Assist with development, modification, testing and distribution of existing or new reports and data calls for various internal and external business stakeholders in collaboration with the MI report developers
  • Perform testing of enhancements and defect fixes for the bordereaux management system
  • Assist with onboarding risk, claims and payment templates for new contracts, through testing and collaboration with team members, underwriters, claims, business analysts and vendors
  • Update system with new catastrophe codes as needed
  • Update code lists for various lookup tables and code maintenance lists
  • Assist with other projects and tasks related to data administration and processing

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Solid knowledge of various data sets pertaining to the insurance or finance industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and skills in other Microsoft Office products to support MI and Reporting
  • The ability to effectively plan and prioritize work to meet strict deadlines
  • The ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage
  • The ability to produce and interpret clear graphical representations and data visualizations
  • Ability to handle a diverse range of priorities and tasks
