Job Description

Export Development Canada (EDC) is a financial Crown corporation that supports Canadian businesses in succeeding globally. They are seeking Analysts and Associates in Investments to contribute to their investment team by conducting market research, assisting with due diligence, building financial models, and managing transaction processes.


Responsibilities

  • Due Diligence – Assist senior team members with investment due diligence and investment proposal creation
  • Financial Models – Build and utilize excel financial models for valuation, risk assessment, and cash flow profiling purposes
  • Research – Undertake market research and build investment landscapes across multiple sectors
  • Investment Coordination - Work collaboratively within EDC Investments, and across other EDC internal teams (including business development, technical advisory services, legal services, treasury and accounting, and risk management), to move investments through due diligence and closing processes
  • Legal Documentation – Develop familiarity with term sheet provisions and investment legal documentation
  • Portfolio Monitoring – Assist the team with monitoring the portfolio performance and preparing fair market valuation assessments
  • Reporting – Contribute to various reporting requirements for the Investments Program

Skills

  • Recently completed Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience (including co-op experience) in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or transaction services
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
  • Will consider other undergraduate or masters degrees combined with relevant work experience
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting
  • Outstanding financial modeling skills and verbal/written communication skills
  • Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French)
  • Eligibility to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents)
  • Meet the requisite government security screening requirements
