Job Description
Timberland is a renowned brand committed to craftsmanship and sustainability, seeking an Associate Designer for Women's Footwear. This role involves creating innovative footwear designs, collaborating with teams, and ensuring product concepts meet brand objectives and market needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and create footwear concepts on existing collections through pattern, color and material application
- Research - Work within the parameters of the product briefs to support the category goals and objectives
- Technical Package Development - In conjunction with a product developer, prepares the approved design into a package of two and/or three-dimensional information
- Maintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with team members
- Present project concepts, trends and inspirational stories in internal reviews
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator) to visualize and present accurate artwork and photo realistic concepts
- Collaborate with Design, Product Management, and Footwear Development teams to execute project direction, product process, cost targets and deliverables
- Conceptualize and design footwear for Timberland precisely translating the product brief or direction into designs that meet highly functional, costing, and aesthetic objectives
- Initiate and provide focused, feasible, functional, commercial, and innovative footwear concepts that are appropriate and applicable for the Timberland brand
Skills
- 1+ years of footwear design experience, with work industry preferred
- Proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop preferably in a Mac environment
- Other basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Products
- Experience with leather, textiles, graphic, color, footwear or apparel
- Creative problem-solving skills to assist product manager to meet product and calendar objectives quickly and efficiently
- Strong communication skills, and ability to communicate concepts with digital renderings
- Ability to contribute and generate ideas with Designers
- The ability to respond quickly to multiple projects with strong time management skills
- Strong ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with a critical eye for detail
- The ability to thrive in highly collaborative environments and build relationships with cross-functional teams
- International and Domestic Travel, 5-10 percent
- The ability to work in the Stratham HQ office a minimum of three days per week
- 3D Modeling and rendering experience a plus
