Job Description
Kargo is a company focused on creating powerful connections between brands and consumers through innovative advertising solutions. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to manage the full accounts receivable cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, cash application, and collections to maintain the integrity of receivable balances and cash flow visibility.
Responsibilities
- Own the full accounts receivable cycle — from accurate invoicing to cash application and collections
- Ensure the integrity of receivable balances, COGS recording, and AR operations for both domestic and APAC entities
- Keep Kargo's revenue engine running cleanly
- Maintain a clean and current AR ledger, issue invoices accurately and on time, apply cash daily, and ensure the aging report reflects reality with no mystery balances or stale open items
- Establish a consistent collections cadence and handle escalations proactively
- Ensure month-end close is predictable with AR reconciliations, journal entries, and COGS processing completed on time with minimal rework or surprises
- Support APAC operations without gaps, handling expense processing, payroll coordination, and vendor payment runs accurately and on schedule
- Resolve billing discrepancies flagged by Sales and Client Success quickly, identifying and addressing root causes upstream
Skills
- 1–3 years of accounting experience in a private or public company, preferably in media, technology, or digital advertising
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, general ledger activity, and AR-specific processes (invoicing, cash application, reconciliations)
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite
- Strong Excel skills for reconciliation, aging analysis, and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or active progress toward CPA certification
- Experience supporting international or APAC entity accounting operations
