Job Description

Farnsworth Group is seeking a SUE/Utilities Engineer – Entry Level to work on energy and utility projects related to Subsurface Utility Engineering. The role involves providing technical support, utility designation services, project execution, and coordination with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support as part of an engineering team on projects reporting directly to Farnsworth Group’s project manager
Field support – provide utility designation services by identifying, locating and mapping underground utilities in the field to create a 2D map
Project execution - provide technical and design support for the development of utility drawings
Project coordination with various project team stakeholders including but not limited to client representatives, internal departments (i.e. survey, CAD, etc.), subcontractors, subconsultants, and other Energy and Utility team members
Observe construction at field locations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications

Skills

BS in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering degree), from an ABET accredited institution
0-3 years of experience in the utility industry
Computer proficiency with MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
Must be able to travel and have a valid driver's license
Must be willing to work outside in various weather conditions
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
