Job Description

The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is a national charity supporting soldiers, veterans, and their families in times of need. They are seeking an Events Assistant to support regional fundraising events, manage administrative processes, and engage with supporters and volunteers to ensure successful event delivery.


Responsibilities

  • Input, maintain and update supporter and campaign data using CRM and finance systems
  • Support the smooth administration of fundraising events, including income batching, campaign updates and expenses processing
  • Respond to enquiries and act as a key contact for supporters and volunteers across the region
  • Help plan, organise and deliver regional fundraising and engagement events
  • Provide guidance and practical support to volunteer fundraisers and local networks
  • Advertise future events online and make effective use of digital tools and fundraising platforms
  • Maintain fundraising materials, merchandise and stock levels for regional activities
  • Attend briefings, presentations and external events to represent the organisation when required

Skills

  • Ability to be flexible with working patterns, including occasional out-of-hours and weekend working
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Literate, numerate and experienced in good office practice
  • Well organised with the ability to manage varied tasks and priorities
  • A strong empathy with the organisation's cause and beneficiaries
  • IT literate with an understanding of social media tools
  • Previous experience with a fundraising CRM system would be advantageous
  • An understanding of the British Army and the charity sector would be beneficial
