Job Description
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Law Offices of Robert S. Gitmeid & Assoc. PLLC is a consumer protection law firm located in the Financial District of New York City, providing representation to consumers who have been harassed or otherwise deceived by creditors and debt collectors. They are currently seeking a full-time Paralegal with civil litigation experience to support attorneys in litigation-related matters and provide administrative support to the office staff.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the firm’s attorneys in managing a high volume of litigation matters
- Drafting pleadings, legal memoranda, settlement agreements, etc
- Communication with clients and opposing counsel
- Research with regard to simple and complex legal matters
- Administrative responsibilities such as client intake, organizing, and record keeping
Skills
- Minimum of 1-year civil litigation experience (e.g., drafting pleadings and legal research)
- Exceptional legal writing skills
- Possess superior organizational and time-management skills
- Must be computer literate: Ability to easily learn the Firm's case management software
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and outside parties
- Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus
- Paralegal Certification is a plus
