Job Description
BBA Consultants is a leading private consulting engineering firm with a focus on the energy and natural resources industry. They are seeking a Junior Civil Designer to support civil and infrastructure design requirements, working on a variety of challenging projects within heavy industry, including mining and energy. The role involves designing using 3D modeling software, generating reports, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Design roads, platforms and underground piping for mining and energy projects using 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Civil 3D
- Generate various reports, process data collected on site and create detailed plans
- Participate in project kick-off meetings with stakeholders and serve as a consultant in your area of expertise
- Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team
- Use new technologies
Skills
- College or vocational diploma in civil engineering with demonstrated expertise in drafting/CAD technology or similar
- Ideally have 1-5 years of experience
- Understanding of surveying and coordinate systems
- In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D software for design and quantity calculations
- Available to work in the office and for occasional travel to remote project sites
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with national and local codes related to site drainage and erosion control
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings
- Knowledge or understanding of the principles of surveying
- Previous site inspection experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
