Job Description

The Wealth Advisor, Investments serves as the investment lead within the Diamond Team, responsible for driving Assets Under Management (AUM) growth, portfolio strategy, and ongoing investment management for High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) clients. This role sits at the intersection of consultative sales and portfolio management, owning the end-to-end investment lifecycle; from positioning and closing portfolio recommendations for new clients to implementing, monitoring, and evolving portfolios over time. The Investment Advisor partners closely with the Wealth Advisor to advance client opportunities, convert prospects to funded AUM, and deliver a best-in-class investment experience. This role also collaborates closely with the Investment Department to deliver data-driven investment solutions, align with firm-wide portfolio strategy, and support asset growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

    Sales & AUM Growth
  • Act as the investment lead in new client opportunities, partnering with the Wealth Advisor, Planning/Team Lead to position, present, and deliver portfolio recommendations that drive conversion.
  • Own the full progression of the investment sale, including follow-ups, objection handling, refinement of recommendations, and final close.
  • Drive conversion of prospects to funded AUM, including oversight of the asset transfer and funding process from commitment through settlement.
  • Contribute to personal and team AUM growth goals; maintain accountability for investment pipeline activity and conversion outcomes within Salesforce.
  • Develop strong client relationships by clearly articulating and delivering a compelling investment value proposition.
    Portfolio Proposal Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end portfolio proposal process, including analysis, design, and all client-facing deliverables.
  • Analyze current and prospective client portfolios to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities; develop customized, tax-aware investment strategies aligned with client goals, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance.
  • Present recommendations in a clear, compelling, and client-friendly manner, translating complex investment concepts into accessible insights.
  • Stay current on market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes; proactively surface ideas and strategies that benefit clients and the firm.
New Client Onboarding & Portfolio Deployment
  • For newly onboarded clients, own and manage the portfolio deployment plan — developing phased investment schedules that account for cash deployment, in-kind transfers, and tax-sensitive transitions.
  • Track deployment milestones against plan, proactively communicate progress to clients, and partner with operations and service teams to ensure smooth execution while retaining ownership of outcomes and timelines.
  • Confirm completion of full deployment and ensure the client’s portfolio reflects the approved strategy before transitioning to ongoing management.
    Ongoing Portfolio Management & Monitoring
  • Serve as the primary owner of portfolio monitoring and ongoing investment strategy for existing clients, continuously evaluating holdings against stated objectives, risk parameters, and evolving circumstances.
  • Work with investment committee & department to adjust portfolios in response to market conditions, client life events, tax considerations, or changes in goals; identify rebalancing, repositioning, and optimization opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Partner with the Wealth Advisor to ensure investment strategy remains aligned with the client’s broader financial plan and evolving needs.
  • Serve as the Diamond Team’s investment subject matter expert, elevating team-wide investment knowledge, communication, and consistency.
    Alternative Investment Integration
  • Partner with the Investment Committee to evaluate new alternative investment opportunities, including private equity, private credit, real estate, and other non-traditional strategies.
  • Identify which clients are appropriate for each opportunity based on profile, risk tolerance, liquidity, and investment objectives; drive proactive outreach, client education, and participation.
  • Manage end-to-end communication and execution of alternative investment allocations, from initial recommendation through documentation, funding, and ongoing monitoring.
    Performance Reporting & Client Communication
  • Own the investment performance reporting lifecycle — from review and quality control through preparation and timely delivery of client-facing reports.
  • Review reporting outputs from platforms such as Addepar for accuracy and completeness; resolve discrepancies prior to client delivery.
  • Translate performance results into clear, actionable insights for clients, providing relevant market commentary, attribution context, and forward-looking perspective.
  • Lead or support the investment portion of client review meetings, using performance reporting as a proactive engagement and retention tool.
    Internal Collaboration & Compliance
  • Operate as the investment pillar of the diamond team, partnering with the Wealth Advisor on client strategy, the Associate Advisor on analysis and modeling, and the Paraplanner on data management and execution.
  • Manage investment-related activity within the firm’s CRM and technology platforms, including Salesforce and Addepar, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records at all times.
  • Follow Centura’s established processes for sales pipeline management, compliance, and fiduciary standards; uphold regulatory requirements applicable to investment advisory services.
  • Build and maintain Centura’s reputation as a trusted, sophisticated, and forward-thinking wealth management firm serving UHNW individuals and families.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

  • Knowledge of HNW and UHNW client needs, including tax-aware investing, portfolio transitions, liquidity planning, and long-term wealth preservation.
  • Strong consultative sales and closing skills, with a demonstrated ability to own and advance investment proposals through the full sales cycle to funded AUM.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage portfolio deployment plans for new clients, and deliver ongoing monitoring and strategy for existing clients.
  • Experience owning investment performance reporting processes, including platform-level review, quality control, and client delivery.

  • Strong business development and pipeline management skills, including CRM proficiency (Salesforce).
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with HNW/UHNW clients and prospects.
