Rausch Sturm LLP is a creditor's rights law firm seeking an Associate Attorney for the Dallas Fort Worth, Waco, Lubbock, Midland, or El Paso areas in Texas. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for litigating debt collection matters and engaging in risk analysis and strategy development. Responsibilities Represents clients in pre-suit and post-judgement matters Reviews correspondence and file information to determine if lawsuit or motion appropriate for filing Reviews answers and prepares responses to discovery and dispositive motions Manages all aspects of preparing for and appearing as counsel at hearings and trials Attends court settings throughout the state of Texas through virtual appearances Attends physical court settings as needed in courts in close proximity Provides analysis and advises on legal and regulatory risks Writes, reviews, and edits reports, opinions, correspondence, and other documents Other responsibilities as assigned Skills Background in litigation Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws with experience in collection law and/or courtroom experience Ability to work independently Managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment is required Requires a JD in law Bar admission in Texas Attorney bar license in Texas (Required) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities Knowledge of the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance Company Overview WHAT WE DO: For over 45 years, Rausch Sturm LLP has been nationally recognized as a full-service account receivables management law firm.
