Food Forward Inc. is a woman-owned B Corp and social enterprise dedicated to making local food more accessible and affordable. They are seeking a Market Operations Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations of mobile and pop-up farmers markets, ensuring efficient execution and support for local food access initiatives. Responsibilities Oversee and support day-to-day operations of multiple community markets each week Coordinate, schedule, and train market staff Manage on-site logistics including inventory tracking, supply ordering, cash handling (deposits and change), and shift coverage coordination Maintain equipment and supplies to ensure markets run smoothly and efficiently Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs); support implementation of updates in partnership with the Senior Manager Support and troubleshoot market technology, including POS systems, mobile hotspots, and related tools Assist with outreach, site coordination, and engagement efforts as directed Adapt to program needs, including weekday coverage, occasional weekends, and multi-market days Provide administrative and operational support in other areas of the organization as needed Skills Experience supervising shift-based teams, including scheduling and training staff Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable learning and using technology (POS systems, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, Canva, etc.) Ability to work independently in community-based environments Valid driver's license and ability to be insured and drive company vehicles Organized, dependable, and able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet Mission-driven, adaptable, and collaborative Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or valid medical waiver) Able to pass a criminal background check (required for community-based sites, including schools and early learning spaces) Experience in food service, agriculture, farmers markets, or similar operational environments Knowledge of inventory systems, supply ordering, food safety standards, and workflow processes Experience working in settings with primarily part-time or hourly staff and maintaining consistent week-to-week operations Forklift certification Interest in food access, community programs, sustainability, or food systems work Benefits 100% employer-covered benefits (medical, vision, dental) 401k with employer match Generous PTO and paid holidays off Company Overview Building Generational Health through food recovery Donate today to connect surplus produce with people experiencing food insecurity! foodforward.org It was founded in 2009, and is headquartered in North Hollywood, California, USA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
