Operations System Consultant – Equipment Rental Business We’re looking to bring on someone with real experience building operations systems to help us design and implement a scalable setup for our equipment rental business. This isn’t just theory — we’re looking for someone who has actually built systems like this before and understands how to structure things in a practical way that works day-to-day. What we’re trying to build We want a centralized system that covers: Scheduling / dispatch CRM (customers, contacts, job history) Asset tracking (equipment, utilization, maintenance) Fleet tracking (vehicles, costs, usage) Accounting integration Document storage What we’re currently considering Operations: Quickbase Accounting: QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise File storage: Microsoft SharePoint We’re open to changing this if there’s a better approach — the main goal is to get the structure right from the start. What we’re looking for Someone who has built or helped build operations systems for service-based or rental businesses Strong understanding of how to connect systems (operations + accounting + reporting) Able to think through structure, not just tools Practical and execution-focused Goal We want a system that gives us clear visibility into the business and actually helps us make better decisions as we grow — without going down the path of expensive ERP systems.
