They are seeking an Associate Systems Packaging Engineer to support the engineering team with 3D modeling system layouts, proposal design solutions, and customer negotiations for unique tailored designs in the Hypersonic Vehicle Systems group. Responsibilities Engage with team of creative, independent individuals Contribute to the development of new products through consulting with customers and sales personnel Provide critical early layout models for our customers Consult on new product and market development efforts Prepare successful proposal designs and concepts, along with cost and schedule estimates Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses Contributing to the analysis, conceptual design, development, and test of complex control hardware used on military/space vehicles and equipment Learning the product design and development process Determining the customer’s needs, system architecture based on component layouts, analysis approaches and project management processes (cost and schedule) Supporting subsections of the overall system engineering responsibilities Being monitored by other Project, System or Design Engineers Occasional travel to support customer meetings and business development needs Sometimes working for extended period of times on site with our customers Engage in requirements creation and conceptual validation early in programs Skills Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering with 0-3 years design/drafting experience Ability to travel 10% Demonstrated ability in packaging electrical and mechanical components, Assemblies, Connectors, and cables, including design, integration and validation in environments including avionics or space Able to complete drawings including tolerance stacks and tolerancing for MFG Engineering fundamentals with the ability to understand and guide analyses and offer solutions related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, and opto-mechanical systems.
