Job Description
We are seeking a client-facing Fractional CFO with real-world CFO and controllership experience to support our partners and CFO team at The Power CFO. This role is not bookkeeping or entry-level finance; it requires strong financial leadership, real-world controllership experience, and the ability to confidently guide clients through financial clarity and decision-making. This individual will work directly with clients and must be comfortable stepping into existing financial environments, quickly assessing accuracy, identifying gaps, and establishing structure. A key responsibility in this role is reviewing the last 2 - 3 years of financials and tax returns to ensure proper coding, GAAP alignment, and overall financial integrity. From there, you will lead ongoing financial oversight including monthly reviews, reporting clarity, and forward-looking insights. This is a high-trust, client-facing role requiring strong communication, responsiveness, and ownership. • CPA license preferred, but not required • Prior experience in a fractional CFO or client-facing advisory role Responsibilities: • Review historical financials and tax returns for accuracy and structure • Ensure proper GAAP alignment and clean chart of accounts • Lead monthly financial reviews and identify gaps or inconsistencies • Provide cash flow visibility, margin analysis, and KPI insight • Support clients in understanding their numbers and making informed decisions • Partner with internal team members to maintain consistency across client engagements
