Data Product Owner This is a full-time project role with a minimum commitment of 24 months; travel up to 25%. Open to all locations. The GSI UW Workbench program aims to automate data ingestion, submission prioritization, pricing integrations, rules applications, underwriting documentation, binding of business and policy issuance. Underwriting process harmonization across GSI underwriting teams is also a target outcome. The Data Product Owner provides leadership and strategic direction for all data-related decisions within the Underwriting Workbench program. This role ensures that data needs across underwriting, operations, MI/analytics, and technology are aligned to a coherent vision. They oversee the data roadmap, guide prioritization, and serve as the key decision-maker for data requirements across all workstreams. Responsibilities: Contribute to the success of GSI by leading the data workstream of the global underwriting workbench program Lead the data product vision and strategy for the underwriting workbench Collect data requirements across GSI business units, insurance markets and lines of business Ensure alignment between programme objectives, data architecture, and business needs Oversee and prioritize data-related backlogs, epics, and user stories Provide subject matter input on enterprise data standards, quality rules, lineage, and governance Partner with Data Analysts, Data Governance, Engineering, and Product Owners across workstreams Advocate for and challenge data decisions to ensure consistency and scalability Strive for common information at the GSI level while supporting the entrepreneurial business units in different markets Own the conceptual and logical data model and collaborate closely with IT on implementation Align critical data elements with other transformation programs in GSI Use advanced AI technology to extract information from submission documents Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities: Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field Strong background in data strategy, data architecture, or data product management Experience working in complex, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders Excellent understanding of the global insurance market with relevant experience for 5+ years Proven project management capabilities in an agile setup for 5+ years Strong proficiency in technical data handling, e.g. writing SQL or Python scripts to manipulate data for 5+ years Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and guiding others through ambiguity Entrepreneurial and customer-centric mindset and ability to develop strategic targets and conceptually transform requirements into solutions Integrative personality, strong in building and maintaining relationships (internally and externally) Drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude to initiate and execute use cases (βgetting things doneβ) Excellent ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical communities to ensure data uses and limitations are well understood and will provide substantive business value The Company is open to considering remote candidates. The base salary range anticipated for this position is $125,800- $184,500 plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position across the United States. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
