All Jobs > Career Services Representative Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts Apply Career Services Representative Fully Remote Apply Description The Career Services Representative is responsible for the delivery of services that support the primary objective of the Career Services function. This include: Student readiness, retention and completion in the Industry Externship Course Graduate employment in qualifying industries positions post completion; Adherence to all departmental, institutional, and regulatory agencies processes and standards. The Career Services Representative provides education, resources and coaching to students and alumni for the purpose of successfully facilitating a vocational outcome that matches their career aspirations and employment goals. This role is responsible for all aspects of externship and postgraduate vocational outcomes. This is a remote position and is not flexible. A permanent office, free from distraction, is required. Standard business hours are required, with two late evenings scheduled mid-week. Some weekend hours and overtime may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing a Student Cohort to Achieve Vocational Outcomes Manages a cohort of students to assure each student receives all of the required services and resources required to secure a qualifying vocational outcome. Develops an ongoing relationship with students and provides individualized coaching, education and support over the course of the student lifecycle. Assesses students occupational goals, skill level and lifestyle requirements to develop a career pathway for externship and post graduation employment. Maintains the student record with accurate and complete information documented in real time. Provides Coaching and Resources to Students and Graduates Develops and delivers geographically accessible and assessment responsive employment leads to students through-out their program and again 45 days prior to externship. Conducts employer relations to develop specific opportunities for the student/graduate based on geographical location, externship course start, and the student career assessment. Conduct classroom presentations, education sessions, externship labs, and other events as indicated by student need. Responsible for student readiness for the externship course at the start of each term. Analyzes student population to understand demographic affinities in a way to scale coaching. Management Externship Sites and Verification Assists the student in developing a strategic externship opportunity that: Aligns with their personal goals and launches their career in the industry. Offers paid employment and converts to post graduation employment, when appropriate. Meets the academic qualifications of the course in which the student is enrolled. In addition: Verifies each externship opportunity to assure it qualifies based on the employer type, job duties and the supervisor as indicated by the program in which the student is enrolled. Accountable for the accuracy and timely submission and approval of externship paperwork. Utilizes intra-department resources to assure externship retention and completion of the course and the program. Assures complete and accurate documentation of all calls and activities in the student record. Post-Graduation Placement Provides ongoing resources and assistants to graduates to assure their employment in the industry after graduation. Career Service Tactics Consistently delivers coaching to a minimum of 15 - 18 unique students each day at the highest level (by phone call or Zoom Session). Conducts a minimum of two zoom sessions each day with students, graduates and/or employers. Spends 85% of the work week time directly engaging with students at the highest level (coaching calls, zoom sessions, externship labs, classroom presentations). Provides coaching to students on using the scope of the industry, career paths, interviewing skills, resume development, culinary portfolios, networking, job searches strategies, and other topics as directed. Maintains professional dress and image for daily business in a business/casual work environment. Uses formal and professional language when communicating with students, staff, and stakeholders in conversations, phone calls, chats, text, email and other messages. Regularly attends all required departmental meetings, participates with cameras on, and demonstrates engagement and attentiveness. Consistently identifies and understands the needs of special populations of externship students to include state of residency, status changes, return from LOA, non-passing, move-forwards, re- entries, and other lifestyle factors. Uses Escoffier resources and business partners to identify and promote career opportunities for all students. Effective adoption of new technology including the electronic document process and adherence with compliance and accreditation standards. Understands and complies with all government, accreditation, and institutional standards. All other duties as directed by leadership. Requirements Associates Degree. Bachelorβs Degree preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.), Google Products required. Salesforce and CVue preferred. Familiarity with Customer Relationship, Student Management, and Analytical Management Applications. The expected salary range for this position is between $58,000 and $64,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
