Clearance Requirement: None required at the time of application, though Public Trust or higher is preferred Work Location: Remote (may be asked to report onsite in DC from time to time) Work Schedule (Remote): Remote 5 days a week (M-F) Position Overview: ZenPoint Solutions is seeking an AWS Administrator to be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud environments supporting a high-availability public-facing web platform and its associated infrastructure, including production, backup, and test environments. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of AWS-hosted systems while supporting ongoing operations, maintenance, and modernization initiatives. The AWS Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining system performance and uptime, implementing infrastructure as code (IaC), and supporting continuous integration and delivery pipelines. This position emphasizes automation, security, disaster recovery, and cost optimization to ensure efficient and resilient cloud operations. This position is contingent upon the successful award of a government contract and subsequent government approval. Requirements Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud environments supporting web-based applications and infrastructure Maintain high availability and performance standards for cloud-hosted systems across multiple environments (production, backup, and test) Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform Configure and manage AWS networking services, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, load balancers, and connectivity solutions Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance requirements Monitor system performance, optimize resource utilization, and manage cost efficiency within AWS environments Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity Automate administrative and operational tasks using scripting tools and AWS-native services Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments Perform system administration tasks, including patching, updates, and configuration management Maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across AWS services and infrastructure Stay current with AWS services, features, and industry best practices to continuously improve the environment Required Qualifications: Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. (Four (4) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a degree) Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in IT, with significant hands-on experience in cloud administration Demonstrated experience designing and managing AWS environments Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) Experience with AWS networking, security, and identity management (IAM) Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu) operating systems, Apache HTTP Server Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Desired Qualifications: AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) Experience supporting high-availability, public-facing web platforms Knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS) Experience with cost management and optimization strategies in AWS Strong documentation and configuration management experience Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams No recruitment agencies, please.
