Job description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate reading and math lessons cooperatively with classroom teachers for the purpose of ensuring student success and supporting teachers.
- Instruct students (e.g. individually, small and whole group sessions, etc.) for the purpose of improving their success in math and assessing key concepts and proficiency through defined courses of study.
- Collect, analyze, and prepare data for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Advise parents and/or legal guardians for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate district, state and federal records and reports.
- Must have excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable personality.
- 1-on-1 Online Tutoring: connect with an individual student for a highly personalized learning experience.
- Small Group Classes: meet with small groups for a more collaborative learning experience
- Assess students? progress throughout instructional sessions, and work collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to assist students in need of acceleration
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Support the maintenance of a clean & professional learning environment
- Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the school district.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with school staff
- Reliability and dependability
- Assist with non-teaching/ instructional tasks as needed
- Bachelor's Degree
- Current valid PA State Certification - preferred
- Experience working with school aged children - preferred.
- A passion for math and working with students
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
- PA Department of Education FBI
