The Position
- The Financial Analyst internship will provide meaningful and educational real-world experience within the scope of an independent music publishing company. Reservoir’s objective in hosting all interns is to provide valuable preparation for a professional career in the entertainment industry. Reservoir’s internship program is a maximum 12-week, part time, paid program and students may earn college credit upon completion of the internship. This internship will run from June 1st - Aug 21st. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities.
- Performing detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses of music catalogs, companies, and joint ventures to assist the acquisitions team in evaluating investment opportunities.
- Participating in due diligence efforts including royalty, operational, and legal analysis to determine risk and confirm valuation assumptions.
- Working cross-functionally with internal teams (royalties, copyright, accounting, legal, etc) to drive post-closing integration efforts and manage transition of assets.
- Creating data dashboards that consolidate and organize business KPIs to come up with actionable analyses.
- Conducting music industry research to help support potential deals and strategic business decisions.
- Building data driven case studies for various teams within the Reservoir publishing and recorded businesses to support key financial and operating decisions.
- Qualifications
- Undergraduate students enrolled in music business, finance, accounting, computer science, data analytics, or related program.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills are required, along with a genuine passion for and knowledge of the music industry.
- Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence tools is a plus.
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to take initiative while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Graduate between May 2026 and December 2027 with a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA.
