Job Description
Video Editor / Post-Production Producer for Nonprofit (Documentary-style) Project
We are a boutique marketing agency working with a nonprofit humanitarian organization on a meaningful and mission-driven video project. We are looking for a seasoned video producer and storyteller to join us as a full creative partner from strategy through final delivery.
This is not a one-dimensional editing job. We need someone who can think narratively, write compellingly, and cut with precision — someone who understands how to find the story inside a massive footage library and build something that moves people to act.
- --
The Project
You will be editing a suite of nine videos from a large library of professional footage — raw, authentic, and emotionally powerful material captured across active humanitarian operations in high-conflict regions. The deliverables include:
A 2-minute flagship organizational overview (donor-facing, event use)
Two 1-minute program spotlights
Six short-form social reels in square and vertical formats
This is not a corporate polish job. The footage is real, the mission is real, and the storytelling needs to honor both.
- --
WHAT YOU'LL OWN OR CONTRIBUTE TO
- Narrative strategy — helping define the story arc, emotional tone, and messaging approach for each video
- Scriptwriting — developing scripts and voiceover copy that are authentic, compelling, and mission-aligned
- Storyboarding — mapping the visual and narrative structure before we touch the footage
- Footage review and selects — working through a very large library of conflict zone footage to find the moments that matter
- Editing and post-production — constructing narrative-driven edits with strong pacing, emotional resonance, and technical polish
- Interview integration — coordinating and incorporating on-camera interviews
- Multi-format delivery — long-form finals plus social-ready cuts in multiple aspect ratios
We will define accountability and collaboration touchpoints as the project develops — right now we want the right person at the table from the start.

BEYOND THIS PROJECT
We are a growing boutique agency and we are looking for more than a freelancer for a single engagement. If this project is a great fit, we would love to build a long-term working relationship. Future work spans a wide range of formats — brand and promo videos, explainers, AI-generated and UGC-style content, social-first creative, and more. We want one person we can rely on, grow with, and bring into client work as a trusted creative partner. If you are someone who enjoys variety, embraces new formats and tools, and is energized by building something alongside a team — we'd love to talk.

- Comfort navigating large, unorganized raw footage libraries and building stories from the ground up
- A genuine editorial instinct for pacing, emotion, and human connection
- Experience with humanitarian, or nonprofit content is a strong plus
- Someone who is collaborative, communicative, and energized by meaningful work
