The IMA Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Payer Services division as a Clinical File Review Specialist. This role supports an innovative clinical review model, allowing you to apply your expertise in a fully remote, non-patient-facing environment.
You will work closely with physician reviewers by synthesizing medical records and preparing structured case summaries that support final clinical determinations.
Compensation:
$120,000 - $150,000 annually, based on experience and licensure
- What You'll Do:
- Review medical records across multiple specialties (orthopedics, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, and more)
- Analyze and synthesize complex clinical documentation into structured summaries
- Identify key medical findings, inconsistencies, and gaps
- Prepare draft report frameworks for physician review and sign-off
- Support case organization and complexity tiering
- Collaborate with physician reviewers and QA teams
- Maintain turnaround time and quality benchmarks
- What You Bring:
- Active, unrestricted NP or PA license
- 3+ years of clinical experience (internal medicine, ortho, neuro, occupational medicine, or related fields preferred)
- Strong medical record interpretation skills across specialties
- Excellent written communication and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in a remote, technology-driven environment
- Preferred:
- Experience in insurance medicine, disability, workers' compensation, or IME/file review
- Familiarity with payer guidelines, utilization review, or peer review processes
- Experience with structured documentation tools or clinical technology platforms
- Work Environment:
- Fully remote (home office; equipment provided)
