Licensed Mental Health Clinician (1099 Contractor, Licensed in CA, Part-Time or Full-Time)
Location: San Francisco Bay Area & Monterey County
Work Setting: Fully Remote or Hybrid (In-Person and Telehealth)

Position Summary:
CBHC seeks skilled, motivated Licensed Mental Health Clinicians to join our multidisciplinary team as independent contractors (1099 status). The Licensed Mental Health Clinician will provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and psychosocial support to a diverse population of adult patients with a range of mental and physical health concerns. This role emphasizes individualized care, clinical autonomy, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary framework.
Clinical Focus:
Clinicians work with patients presenting concerns, including, but not limited to:
ยท Depression and anxiety
ยท Adjustment to chronic illness and aging
ยท Grief and loss
ยท Chronic pain and sleep disturbances
ยท Psychosocial stressors and major life transitions
ยท Caregiver stress and support
The clinician will collaborate with internal providers and community resources to optimize patient outcomes and deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
ยท Masterโs degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or related field
ยท Active, unrestricted California license in good standing (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/LPC)
ยท Minimum 2 years post-licensure clinical experience
ยท Strong foundation in CBT and other evidence-based treatment modalities
ยท Prior experience working with older adults is preferred
ยท Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms
ยท Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
ยท Proficiency with electronic health record systems
Key Responsibilities:
ยท Provide individual psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches
ยท Conduct comprehensive clinical intakes and develop individualized treatment plans
ยท Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record
ยท Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and external providers as needed
ยท Deliver services via in-person and telehealth platforms, as appropriate
ยท Operate with clinical independence while upholding ethical, legal, and professional standards
Compensation and Contractor Benefits:
ยท Competitive 1099 compensation: $60 โ 120 per completed clinical hour, based on experience and licensure

1099 Contractor Status:
This position is structured as an independent contractor opportunity. Clinicians retain autonomy over their schedules, clinical practice, and caseload management. CBHC provides referrals, administrative support, and access to consultation, while clinicians are responsible for their own professional liability insurance, tax obligations, and continuing education.
