This is a remote position.
We are looking for a senior Data Scientist / Data Engineer to join a global pharmaceutical client and help build scalable, reliable, and high-performing data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and advanced data science initiatives.
- Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows
- Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting
- Implement automation for data pipelines using CI/CD practices
- Monitor data jobs and troubleshoot failures or performance issues
- Support data consumption for:
- BI dashboards and reporting tools
- Data science and advanced analytics teams
- APIs and custom business applications
- Work with structured and semi-structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions
- Requirements
- Strong experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT design, and data modeling
- Advanced SQL skills for data transformation and analysis
- Strong programming experience with:
- Python (mandatory)
- SQL (mandatory)
- Java or Scala is a plus
- Experience with data lakes and data warehouses
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalable data architecture
- Experience with cloud-based or enterprise-scale data environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Nice to Have
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare environments
- Experience with modern orchestration or automation frameworks
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices

- Location and time zone : USA, New Jersey. While the role is based in the USA, strong profiles from Europe can also be considered if they align well with the role requirements and meet client expectations.
