As a Crisis Specialist, you will play a vital role in connecting individuals with the resources they need to navigate emotional distress and suicidal thoughts.

- *Job Summary**
As a Crisis Specialist, you will be responsible for providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals experiencing emotional distress. You will also answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform, assess for suicide and safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs. This is a remote position, and you will work on a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team.
- *Key Responsibilities**
- Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals experiencing emotional distress
- Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources
- Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
- Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
- Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
- Assists in administrative tasks as needed
- *Essential Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or certified peer recovery specialist
- Six months to one year of related crisis experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree in behavioral science, psychology, or social work
- Experience working in a crisis hotline or mental health setting
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competence
- Bilingual or multilingual skills

- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods
- Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Knowledge of service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
