About the position The Project Archivist for Access is a full-time, three-year term role focused on improving access to archival collections. This hybrid position (four days on-site) supports initiatives related to collection management, researcher access, processing, and digitization. The Project Archivist also provides regular reading room support, assisting researchers and contributing to a welcoming, informed, and service-oriented environment for users of the Institute Archives. Responsibilities β€’ Reviewing collections for restrictions β€’ Updating access information in ArchivesSpace β€’ Supporting projects that enhance knowledge and usability of collections β€’ Providing regular reading room support β€’ Assisting researchers β€’ Contributing to a welcoming, informed, and service-oriented environment for users of the Institute Archives Requirements β€’ Master’s degree in Library, Archival, or Information Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience β€’ A minimum of one year of experience in an archival setting β€’ Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly and in accordance with privacy and ethical standards β€’ Strong research, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, with close attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency β€’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively β€’ Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability skills Nice-to-haves β€’ Experience in academic libraries or archives β€’ Public service experience with diverse communities β€’ Archival processing and description β€’ Familiarity with ArchivesSpace or similar archival management systems Apply To this Job
