Summary:
ย The ideal candidate must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, attend and pass a 16-week training program, be able to lift up to 60 pounds, have basic computer skills, follow instructions with attention to detail, work well in a team, and have a strong focus on safety and a willingness to relocate.
ย The START Service Technician will spend their day training in Tesla service centers, engaging in instructor-led training, collaborating with a team, prioritizing safety, managing tools, meeting curriculum objectives, and maintaining a professional rapport with instructors.
ย The START program is a 16-week intensive EV service training program designed for those with existing automotive experience. During the program, candidates will develop technical expertise and earn certifications through a blended approach of in-class theory, hands-on labs and self-paced learning. Requirements:
ย Must be at least 18 years of age
ย Attend and pass each of the 16-week training sessions with an 80% or higher GPA
ย Valid driverยs license required
ย Must be capable of reporting to a START training location and local service center
ย Must be willing to relocate upon successful completion of the program and accept employment at a Tesla Service Center within 30 days of graduation from the program
ย Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
ย Must follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail
ย Be able to work in a team-based environment and have a "safety first" attitude
ย Familiar understanding of the English language
ย Basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Responsibilities:
ย Dedicate a minimum of 40 hours per week to training, including active participation in service center shadowing for practical experience
ย Engaging in instructor-led training to develop a comprehensive understanding of Tesla vehicles
ย Collaborate within a team environment during both lab and lecture activities
ย Prioritize safety by adhering to established protocols at all times
ย Maintain organization by ensuring proper tooling management
ย Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet weekly curriculum objectives and deadlines
ย Uphold a consistent and professional rapport with instructors
