Key Responsibilities
Student Support (Approximately 2/3 of Time):
Ā Assess and Evaluate: Use standardized tests to evaluate students' skills and learning needs.
Ā Communication: Clearly explain evaluations to parents and regular education teachers.
Ā IEP Development: Create Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) in compliance with federal laws.
Ā Collaboration: Work with parents and school staff to monitor and support student progress.
Ā Family Interaction: Maintain open communication with families, responding to emails, texts, or calls within 24 hours.
Ā Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with students and their families.
Ā Virtual Meetings: Conduct virtual meetings with students to work on their IEP goals.
Ā Support: Provide families with suggestions to enhance learning and become familiar with homeroom resources.
Ā Teaching Plans: Adapt learning materials to meet students' needs and track their progress using measurable data.
Ā Administration Interaction: Regularly update and communicate with school administration.
Ā Meeting Coordination: Schedule and manage special education meetings as required.
Ā Office Hours: Set up weekly office hours for student and parent consultations.
Ā Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Virtual Instruction
Ā Class Delivery: Teach virtual classes Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM ET.
Ā Engagement: Use online platforms and tools to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
Ā Assessment: Evaluate student performance through virtual assessments, discussions, and projects.
In-Person State Testing
Ā Testing Support: Assist with proctoring state-mandated standardized tests and ensure adherence to testing protocols.
Ā Coordination: Work with administration on testing schedules, materials, and result reporting.
Administrative And Other Duties (Approximately 1/3 Of Time)
Ā Record-Keeping: Help with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and student evaluations.
Ā Participation: Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
Ā Collaboration: Work with other educators and staff to enhance educational strategies and practices.
Qualifications
Ā Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Ā Certification: Valid Indiana Special Education Teacher License.
Ā Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with experience in both virtual and in-person settings preferred.
Skills
Ā Proficiency with digital learning platforms and instructional technologies.
Ā Strong classroom management in both virtual and physical environments.
Ā Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Ā Excellent organizational skills to manage various responsibilities and tasks.

Ā Salary: Competitive, based on experience ($43,000).
