We're now seeking an experienced Operations Analyst to on a part-time remote basis. As an Operations Analyst, you'll play a critical role in analyzing and reporting on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to optimize our flight schedules.
Job Summary:
The Operations Analyst will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement in our operational performance. You'll work closely with our IT team to design and build scorecards and reports using Business Intelligence (BI) tools. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in identifying "root causes" of variances in our operational performance and developing strategies to mitigate these issues. Key Responsibilities: * Compile and file daily, monthly, and YTD operational metrics for 12 months over 12 months and vs.
intention. * Analyze data to identify "root causes" of variances to intention via operational area. * Design/Build Scorecards with current structures and associate with IT to build "scorecards" and standard reporting through Business Intelligence (BI) and associated tools. * Clarify and coordinate postpone and cancellation coding to ensure accurate information for evaluation. * Assess adjustments to time table shape for dangers to operational reliability, e.g., time table tightness, recoverability alternatives, etc.
* Build city-pair, time-of-day, and season-of-year specific scheduled block instances using historic instances, historic trends, and predicted versions going forward (e.g., airport construction). * Conduct "non-stop development" evaluation of real block instances relative to scheduled block instances to lessen a) the average variance between actuals and schedule (e.g., +/- 1% factor of intention) and b) the average deviation (e.g., % of "outliers"). * Conduct ad-hoc analyses, as requested. * Other responsibilities assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibility: None. Qualifications and Education Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree. * Strong analytical skills, including manipulating large volumes of data. * Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs, macros, and "linked" spreadsheets. * Ability to summarize and communicate the results of/conclusions from the data analysis. * One to 2 years' analytical experience, including working as part of a team. Preferred Skills: * Experience with BI tools, including Tableau or Power BI. * Experience with Network schedule tools, including Sabre Schedule Manager.
