The purpose of your role as a BIM Technologist I Under direct supervision this individual shall provide VDC support and delivery of better processes and technologies. Internally, the incumbent shall aid in building partnerships with various Harris stakeholders, including: Fabrication facilities, Estimators, Engineers, Designers, Detailers, PMs, I.T., for each of our office and project locations.

Troubleshoot BIM Model queries related to fabrication database instances. This is a temporary part-time position. Setup and Backgrounds: * Organize and utilize AEC data for use with shop drawings per company standards. * Organize and build shop drawing files per scope. Initial Detailing/ System Modeling: * Generate 3D model of piping, plumbing and/or ductwork systems in compliance with building codes, construction standards, contract documents, and instructions from the project leadership. * Route piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems per company standards.

* Show all components and systems per company standards. * Identify and communicate issues that need clarification to the project leadership. Coordination: * Overlay piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork systems with other trades. * Re-route piping, plumbing, and/or ductwork as required. * Produce sign-off record drawings. Final Detailing: * Add remaining text, tags and dimensions to complete shop drawings & other supporting sketches and/or details per company standards. * Prepare final piping/plumbing spool sheets/BOM as required OR MAJ files.

* Make any revisions required per QA/QC. * May prepare equipment take-offs and buy out item lists. Database Management & Maintenance * Lead and/or take part in meetings with Fabrication Shop stakeholders to maintain continuity between shop practices and database elements. * Create fabrication content to be used in fabrication systems developed in database. * Maintain fabrication database by using best practices to optimize performance and improve end-user experience. * Responsible to troubleshoot Fabrication database issues and respond to tickets related to fabrication database in a timely and efficient manner.

What we're looking for in you * 2+ years of trade apprenticeship with CAD/BIM training or AEC experience with BIM/CAD training. * 2+ years of Drafting/Design in Piping, Plumbing, and/or Sheet Metal industry.
