The role involves partnering with underwriting teams to develop business requirements documents and ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle. Responsibilities β€’ Partner closely with Commercial Underwriters and underwriting leadership to understand current-state and future-state underwriting processes across: β€’ Habitational General Liability (GL) β€’ Management Liability β€’ Excess (XS) Casualty β€’ Lead requirements elicitation activities including interviews, workshops, and working sessions with underwriting stakeholders β€’ Develop clear, comprehensive, and high-quality Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), covering: β€’ Business objectives, scope, and assumptions β€’ Functional and non-functional requirements β€’ Data requirements, business rules, and underwriting decision logic β€’ Regulatory and compliance considerations β€’ Translate underwriting workflows and risk assessment needs into structured, unambiguous requirements for technology, product, and delivery teams β€’ Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business need through design, development, testing, and UAT β€’ Act as the primary liaison between underwriting teams and IT/delivery teams to ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle β€’ Support solution design reviews and validate that proposed solutions meet documented underwriting requirements β€’ Participate in UAT planning and execution, validating solutions against underwriting expectations β€’ Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for workflow optimization and automation within underwriting operations β€’ Manage requirement changes, assess downstream impacts, and communicate updates clearly to all stakeholders Skills β€’ Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within insurance or financial services β€’ Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Commercial Underwriting teams β€’ Proven experience authoring detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for complex underwriting or system transformation initiatives β€’ Strong understanding of Commercial Lines underwriting, including: Risk assessment and appetite, Rating and pricing concepts, Underwriting rules and decision frameworks β€’ Experience working on underwriting system implementations or modernization programs β€’ Strong ability to translate underwriting language into structured technical and functional requirements β€’ Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder facilitation skills β€’ Ability to work independently and directly with underwriting stakeholders β€’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience β€’ Experience working with underwriting platforms or Client solutions such as Federato, Duck Creek, or similar systems β€’ Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments β€’ Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent β€’ Exposure to underwriting transformation, workflow automation, or digital modernization initiatives Benefits β€’ Medical, dental, and vision insurance β€’ Flexible spending or health savings account β€’ Life, and AD&D insurance β€’ Short-and long-term disability coverage β€’ Paid time off β€’ Employee assistance β€’ Participation in a 401k program with company match β€’ Additional voluntary or legally required benefits Company Overview β€’ NTT Data specializes in SAP services for enterprises and offers IT consultation, application and cloud management, and SAP implementation.
