BCG Attorney Search is a mission-driven immigration law firm seeking a senior-level associate attorney to join its specialized humanitarian and family-based immigration practice. The role involves representing clients nationwide in complex immigration cases, including VAWA and family-based petitions, while working remotely with occasional travel for case-related matters. Responsibilities • Review, prepare, and manage complex immigration cases, including VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) petitions, T visas for trafficking victims, U visas for crime victims, and family-based immigration petitions • Conduct comprehensive legal research on immigration law, policy changes, and evolving USCIS procedures to support case strategy and client advocacy • Prepare detailed responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and draft persuasive legal memoranda to support client applications • Represent clients in interviews and hearings before USCIS, immigration courts, and other government agencies across the United States • Prepare clients for interviews and hearings, ensuring they understand the process, feel confident, and are thoroughly prepared to present their cases • Apply critical thinking and creative problem-solving to navigate complex immigration challenges, including cases involving statutory bars, inadmissibility issues, and evolving policy interpretations • Manage a full caseload independently while maintaining high standards of client service, legal quality, and responsiveness • Contribute to firm-wide improvements by identifying process efficiencies, sharing best practices, and mentoring junior team members • Identify and address potential legal issues based on evolving immigration policies, regulatory changes, and case law developments • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and team members with clarity, empathy, and professionalism, ensuring clients feel supported throughout the immigration process • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure seamless case management and timely submission of applications Skills • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials • Good standing with any State Bar (multi-state bar admission welcomed; New York Bar preferred but not required) • 9-11 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years of substantial experience in immigration law • Expert knowledge of U.S.
immigration law, policy, and procedures, including in-depth understanding of humanitarian-based immigration relief (VAWA, T visas, U visas) and family-based petitions • Willingness and ability to travel across the United States for client interviews, hearings, and case-related matters • Strong legal writing and communication skills, capable of drafting persuasive legal memoranda, RFE responses, and client correspondence • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying legal issues and developing innovative solutions • Excellent time management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines • Collaborative and self-motivated work style, comfortable working remotely while maintaining strong communication with team members • Solution-focused mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to policy changes, and advocate effectively for clients • Empathy and cultural sensitivity, with a genuine commitment to serving vulnerable immigrant populations and understanding the trauma-informed care approach Benefits • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays to support work-life balance • Remote work flexibility, allowing attorneys to work from anywhere in the U.S.
