The Assistant Vice President - Portfolio Analyst will serve as the primary point of contact for both borrowers and lenders within the Servicing group. This role involves liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders including other servicing staff, Berkadia Mortgage Banking personnel, third-party lenders, trustees, investors, government agencies, and various real estate and construction professionals. The AVP - Portfolio Analyst will manage a portfolio primarily consisting of non-stabilized properties, structured transactions, balance sheet, and complex loans.

We are committed to growing your career, so in this role you will: Responsibilities • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers and lenders, managing a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans and fostering Berkadia’s servicing relationships. • Ensure compliance with all applicable loan documents, inter-creditor, participation, and servicing agreements, and handle timely processing of all loan-related matters and requests. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of loan documents, lender agreements, and servicing contracts to effectively administer loans and ensure company compliance.

• Monitor and process borrower requests, prepare underwriting recommendations for approval by Berkadia managers or external lenders, collaborating with internal/external counsel, rating agencies, and trustees as needed. • Administer daily loan portfolio activities, including payment status checks, collection calls, fund identification, and compliance monitoring, escalating non-compliance or defaults as necessary. • Collaborate with functional units such as Tax, Insurance, and Escrow Analysis to process borrower requests and administer loan requirements, including reserve draws and insurance maintenance.

• Collect and assist with the analysis of property operating statements, rent rolls, and financial statements of borrowers/guarantors. • Review and analyze financial covenants, trigger events, and debt service coverage ratio (DSCR) tests. • Monitor property performance, including analysis of the borrower’s business plan and market conditions. • Prepare quarterly asset summaries, surveillance reports, and other required deliverables for lenders. • Review and prepare recommendation packages for future funding draws, including contract reviews and construction budget assessments.

• Handle detailed referral requests to other servicing departments for transactions requiring lender consent, such as easements and casualty losses. • Consult with Berkadia managers and follow up with borrowers to ensure the completion of requests and inquiries. • Manage and escalate complex issues requiring higher-level decision-making within Berkadia or consent from external parties. • Approve e-forms and recommend defaulted loans for transfer to the special servicer, adhering to Berkadia’s Banking and Cash Activities Approval Limits.

• Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficient in bolthires Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiar with mortgage industry-specific applications like McCracken Strategy, along with strong ability to adapt to new software and intranet-based workflows. • Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on risk management and asset management, complemented by excellent communication skills for clear and effective interaction across all organizational levels. • Exceptional organizational skills, capable of multitasking effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and a keen attention to detail.

• Skilled in analyzing property operating statements and rent rolls to assess asset performance in relation to loan requirements and underwritten metrics. • 3+ years of experience in a similar position. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
