About the positionResponsibilities• Continuously observes activity and behavior of multiple patients at a monitor station utilizing Virtual Sitter software to ensure a safe patient environment.• Verbally redirects patients over a digital 2-way audio device that is in the patient room and immediately summons nursing staff if assistance is required.• Identifies potential patient safety risks/concerns and communicates them to the RN.• Participates in hand-off of pertinent patient information/behavior at shift change and arranges meal breaks and other relief times to ensure constant patient observation.• Provides patients with explanations as necessary but does not counsel or provide opinions.• Seeks assistance when a patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others and participates in collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.• Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from patient rooms and reports findings to RN in a timely manner.• Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements• High School diploma or equivalent required.• Experience working in a hospital preferred.• Certified with Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.Benefits• 100% tuition assistance• Wellness initiatives• Generous paid time off• Paid parental leave• Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program eligible employer• Various resources to support employees both personally and professionally.
