Senior Mentor and Training Consultant. ​ About the Role

Senior Mentors provide one-on-one virtual advising to clients preparing for graduate and professional school. Depending on your background, you may also support clients as a research/dissertation coach or academic editor. ​

This is not a sales role. We’re looking for mentors who can build genuine trust and offer honest, informed, and encouraging guidance.

We value experienced, empathetic education professionals who will help clients pursue ambitious goals while providing clear feedback, strategic scaffolding, and actionable next steps. ​

Senior Mentors may also contribute to training materials for incoming junior mentors, write blog content, assist with curriculum development for institutional partners, or lead virtual workshops on topics related to graduate admissions, research design, and academic success. ​

These roles are fully remote and offer flexible scheduling around your availability.

We welcome candidates seeking casual or part-time work, with potential for expanded hours and performance bonuses as our operations grow. ​

Compensation

Senior Mentors are paid $60/hour (USD) for advising sessions. Additional compensation is available for approved writing, teaching, and curriculum development projects. ​ Required Qualifications • Prior experience in advising, research mentorship, or admissions consulting for graduate/professional programs • Completion of a JD, MD, MBA, MFA, MPH, MPP, MLIS, PhD, or other advanced degree (or current enrollment in the final stages of such a program) • Strong knowledge of career pathways relevant to your field of study • Exceptional writing and communication skills • Reliable high-speed internet connection Preferred Qualifications • Undergraduate or graduate degrees from top-tier institutions • Recipient of competitive fellowships, grants, scholarships or postdocs • Experience teaching or mentoring at the undergraduate or graduate level • Professional experience aligned with your post-graduate training • Experience in student advising, student affairs, or academic support • Committee or evaluation experience related to admissions or fellowships • Training in counseling, guidance, or human relations • Experience in curriculum design and pedagogy/andragogy for adult learners • Multilingual fluency • International experience (e.g., emigration, study/work abroad) • Familiarity with global higher education systems and funding structures • Experience working with diverse populations, including minoritized groups, international students, disabled or neurodivergent individuals, and students across varied socio-economic backgrounds • Personal experience as a first-generation college student, low-income student, parenting student, or member of a minoritized group • Professional editing or writing advising experience • Academic research and publishing experience To Apply Please email the following materials to with the subject line: App:
