Job Summary
The Chief Global Learning Officer serves as the strategic executive leader responsible for the launch, operation, and exponential growth of Lindenwood Global - the university's dedicated 100% online adult learning division.
This role is accountable for building and executing an innovative, market-responsive portfolio of accelerated online programs designed specifically for adult learners, while driving top-line growth and bottom-line profitability. The position champions the ""separate but equal"" operational model that distinguishes Lindenwood Global from traditional campus operations while maintaining academic excellence and accreditation standards. This executive role combines academic leadership with business acumen, focusing on the unique needs of adult learners through andragogical approaches, flexible delivery models, and comprehensive support systems.
The position is critical to achieving Lindenwood Global's ambitious growth projections of reaching 2,905 students and $45.6M in revenue by Year 5. Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

Job Responsibilities and Execution Academic Excellence & Innovation β’ Oversees the design, development, and launch of 20+ innovative online programs across Business, Education, Healthcare, and Information Technology β’ Establishes hallmark andragogical approaches including Life Design, reflection on lived experiences, negotiated learning, and self-authorship methodologies β’ Implements portfolio-based authentic assessments and ePortfolio systems for transportable credentials β’ Drives vigorous focus on credit for prior learning, transfer credit, work-based learning, and accelerated completion pathways β’ Ensures compliance with HLC accreditation standards and manage relationships with accrediting bodies β’ Champions micro-credentialing, stackable credentials, and competency-based education models Operational Excellence & Growth β’ Manages profit and loss responsibility for Lindenwood Global with accountability for contribution margins progressing from 9% to 44% β’ Oversees rapid curriculum development cycles delivering 320 total courses across two phases β’ Leads cross-functional teams including enrollment, marketing, student services, faculty, and technology β’ Implements extreme support and care models meeting adult learners ""where they are"" β’ Establishes scalable systems for admissions, student support, and retention focused on strength of start, persistence, and graduation rates β’ Manages the transition of existing online operations to the new Global platform by January 2026 Student Success & Support Services β’ Implements comprehensive student success frameworks tracking key metrics including post-census persistence, third-term persistence, and graduation rates β’ Oversees specialized student support services including academic writing and math support β’ Develops career services, employer partnerships, and alumni engagement programs β’ Creates personalized learning pathways that validate lived experience and support professional goals β’ Champions accessibility, inclusion, and diverse learning needs in all program offerings Market Development & Partnerships β’ Builds strategic partnerships with employers, workforce boards, and community organizations β’ Develops B2B programs and tuition reimbursement pathways β’ Implements innovative pricing models including flat-rate packages, subscription pricing, and loyalty rewards β’ Leads marketing initiatives emphasizing storytelling and the emotional aspects of adult learning transformation β’ Establishes regional and national market presence for Lindenwood Global brand Leadership and Strategic Thinking β’ Leads the complete launch and scaling of Lindenwood Global as a separate but connected online division β’ Develops and execute comprehensive strategic plans to achieve aggressive enrollment and revenue targets (363 to 2,905 students over 5 years) β’ Champions the missional shift toward ""opening access"" to underserved adult learners while leveraging the non-profit advantage β’ Builds and maintain the ""separate but equal"" operational framework that serves online students effectively β’ Represents Lindenwood Global to internal and external stakeholders, including board presentations and public forums Employee Management and Development β’ Recruits, hires, onboards, and manages dedicated faculty and staff for Lindenwood Global operations β’ Establishes faculty excellence programs and professional development initiatives specific to online adult education β’ Creates performance management systems aligned with adult learning pedagogy and student success outcomes β’ Builds collaborative relationships with traditional campus faculty while maintaining operational separation β’ Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in online teaching and learning β’ Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence β’ Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University's values β’ Sets clear performance expectations and holds employees accountable β’ Conducts annual employee evaluations based on evidence, observation, and feedback Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position. β’ Experience: Minimum 15 years progressive leadership in online education, adult learning, or digital learning innovation β’ Leadership: Demonstrated success launching and scaling adult-centered, accelerated online learning programs with enrollment growth and revenue accountability β’ Academic Operations: Strong understanding of accreditation standards, academic governance, and faculty performance management β’ Technology: Expertise in learning management systems, instructional design, and educational technology integration β’ Business Acumen: Proven track record of P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning in educational settings Preferred Qualifications β’ Experience with both traditional higher education and vocational/career education models β’ Background in adult learning theory and andragogical approaches β’ Success with multi-campus or multi-institutional academic oversight β’ Experience with competency-based education and alternative credential programs β’ Understanding of workforce development and employer partnership models β’ Track record with accreditation processes and regulatory compliance β’ Experience in educational technology implementation and digital transformation Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
