Job Description

Thomson Reuters is currently seeking a highly motivated cloud software engineer to build and deploy the foundation for the next generation of modern cloud native software applications and services. The role involves working with cloud native microservices, leveraging various cloud solutions, and automating build and delivery processes. Responsibilities Work with discrete cloud native micro services with simple repeatable cloud native patterns technologies supporting multi-region deployments, canary testing, and utilizing ephemeral hardware running in public cloud like AWS, Azure or similar Leverage PaaS (Platform as a Service) or IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions Work in Windows and Nix environments including writing scripts Work with continuous build and delivery automation including Git/Bash scripts, Cloud Formation, AWS Code Build & Code Pipeline, Maven, Gradle, Docker, JFrog Artifactory, terraform, Linux, or similar Conduct test automation and testing frameworks including jUnit, Spock, etc Identify externalized dynamic configuration properties Utilize distributed logging such as Datadog Utilize distributed data stores such as S3 Reference templates and automation for creating and software delivery pipelines Skills Skills that are required: Python, Unix/Shell scripting, REST API, Git Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation skills Outgoing innovator investigating new technologies and suggesting technology and/or process improvements Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills Self-learner able to apply new technologies Able to work in a highly collaborative, dynamic agile team environment Able to clearly communicate project status, roadblocks and accomplishments with team leaders Proactive in raising problems, identifying solutions and giving/receiving feedback Effective time management, ability to plan and prioritize work effectively Bachelor's degree in related technology program preferred Skills that are strongly preferred: Java or.NET, AWS Experience/Azure - Cloud Formation/Code Build/Pipeline/Lambda, CICD, Logging/Monitoring experience - Datadog or any other tool Benefits Hybrid Work Model: We’ve adopted a flexible hybrid working environment (2-3 days a week in the office depending on the role) for our office-based roles while delivering a seamless experience that is digitally and physically connected.
