Job Summary:
We are seeking highly qualified and motivated individuals to fill 5 full-time positions as Federal Program Tutor Advisors at Wasilla Middle School. As a Tutor Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing instructional support services to students in need of academic intervention and language acquisition. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in need of academic support
- Assist with classroom management and organization
- Compile and maintain accurate student records
- Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors
- Conduct parent involvement activities and communicate with parents/guardians
- Attend meetings and parent conferences to facilitate communication between students, parents, and instructors
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
- Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education or obtained an associate's degree
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff
- Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students
- Demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills
- Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual candidates are preferred
- Candidates with experience working with students with diverse backgrounds
