Job Description
Kingz Kimonos, a leader in high-quality Jiu-Jitsu gear, is seeking an experienced Remote Finance Controller to establish and maintain the procedures for the finance and accounting department. The ideal candidate will have experience working with U.S.-based companies and proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and eCommerce sales. This position is full-time and requires excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the CFO and outsourced accounting teams.
Availability: Immediately
Schedule: 40 hr weeks, open availability (Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm PHT)
Hourly Wage: $8.00 USD per hour
Responsibilities
1. Day-to-Day Accounting
Β Manage billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
2. Budgeting & Financial Forecasting
Β Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts to support business planning.
Β Identify and report significant variances.
3. Cash Flow Management
Β Oversee cash flow, debt, and collections to ensure financial stability.
4. Compliance & Control
Β Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
Β Assist in preparing financials for the CPA.
Β Prepare and file annual 1099 forms in compliance with IRS requirements.
Β Perform GST monthly reconciliations and process GST returns for the Canadian operations.
5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Β Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide leadership with a clear view of financial health.
Β Support financial reporting and analysis to aid decision-making.
Β Track and reconcile out of state event sales, including event-related expenses and revenue.
6. Collaboration & Communication
Β Participate in weekly calls with the CFO to discuss financial updates and priorities.
Β Supervise the outsourced accounting team, ensuring adherence to best practices and fostering accountability.
7. Audit Coordination
Β Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and manage the audit process, including annual workersΒ compensation audits.
8. Process Improvement & Tools
Β Utilize QBO, Hubdoc, Bill.com, and Microsoft Excel for document management, accounting, and payment workflows.
Β Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in financial systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
Β Minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role for a U.S.-based company
Β Experience in eCommerce financial management (e.g., Shopify financial reporting).
Β Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations, including 1099 preparation.
