About the position
The position involves greeting patients and guests courteously, whether in person or via telephone, and initiating the scheduling and check-in process for patients. The role requires obtaining and verifying accurate identification and demographic data for patients' medical records, ensuring confidentiality, and handling point-of-service collections. The individual will also verify insurance information and improve patient satisfaction through professional representation of the company.
Responsibilities
Β Greet patients and guests in a courteous manner, both in person and over the phone.

Β Initiate scheduling appointments and complete the check-in process for patients.

Β Obtain and verify accurate identification and demographic data for patients.

Β Handle point-of-service collections and face-to-face patient interactions.

Β Verify insurance information through electronic means, telephone, or web applications.

Β Gather and input patient demographic and financial information accurately.

Β Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due.

Β Balance cash drawer daily and prepare deposit slips at the end of each shift.

Β Demonstrate respect and cooperation in all staff relationships.

Β Adapt behavior to specific patient populations and maintain professionalism.
Requirements
Β High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.

Β One year of related experience in hospital, clinic, medical office, or customer service.

Β Computer skills for data entry and retrieval of information.

Β Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Β Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages.

Β Strong interpersonal skills and clerical skills.

Β Technical knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and billing regulations.

Β Good organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills.

Β Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Nice-to-haves
Β Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) preferred.
