Job Details
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for leading all GAAP and Statutory financial reporting requirements and managing all internal controls. We are looking for someone with a strong background in reinsurance accounting and a willingness to dig-in across multiple company financial functions to support next stage of company growth.
ΓΒ Actively manages and develops the Accounting Team
ΓΒ Maintains accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting
ΓΒ Responsible for accurate and timely recording of financial records
ΓΒ Develops and ensures adherence to controls delivering a strong culture of compliance and controls
ΓΒ Responsible for preparation and review of all GAAP and Statutory financial statements
ΓΒ Responsible for preparation and review of reinsurance statements and interactions including cessions and collateral
ΓΒ Coordinates and oversees auditors
ΓΒ Ensure compliance with all government regulations including taxes
ΓΒ Prepares and reviews general ledger entries
ΓΒ Reviews balance sheet reconciliations
ΓΒ Remain well-educated on all technical accounting topics
ΓΒ Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Required Qualifications
ΓΒ BachelorΓΒs degree in accounting or finance
ΓΒ 7+ years related experience
ΓΒ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
ΓΒ Reinsurance accounting experience
Highly Valued
ΓΒ Property and Casualty Insurance Program experience
ΓΒ Experience with Workday Financial Management
ΓΒ Keen ability to think and act strategically and tactically, planning for the long term while balancing the short-term needs of the organization.
ΓΒ Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills
ΓΒ A proactive approach to identifying financial challenges, proposing solutions, and efficiently resolving issues
ΓΒ Capability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
