Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher – Elementary Caseload – North Chicago, IL

Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time, school-based contract position in North Chicago, Illinois. This role is for the 2025–2026 school year and will focus on serving an elementary caseload. The ideal candidate will have a passion for inclusive education and a strong background in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Location: North Chicago, IL
Schedule: Full-Time, Contract
Dates: August 18, 2025 – May 29, 2026
Caseload: Elementary school students
Renewal: May be offered based on performance

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs
Provide direct instruction and academic support in a small group or inclusion setting
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction accordingly
Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to support student learning
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learners
Provide positive behavior supports and classroom management tailored to student needs

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities strongly preferred
Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection
Must meet all state and local requirements for school-based special education teaching
