About the position
- Responsibilities
- Provide back office assistance to healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments.
- Greet and check in patients, verifying coverage and eligibility, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Obtain patient histories and take vital signs.
- Assist with coordination of care for patients.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits.
- Clean and sterilize instruments according to protocol.
- Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and route calls appropriately.
- Schedule appointments and verify membership based on benefit coverage.
- Review preprinted instruction sheets with patients.
- Attend department staff meetings and in-service programs.
- Cross-train in new procedures and departments as needed.
- Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- At least 1 year of front and back office experience.
- Phlebotomy skills are essential.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Electronic Health Records.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Team-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Responsible and reliable work ethic.
- Nice-to-haves
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
