Job Description
We are an established fine art boutique business preparing to publish and print a high-end, museum-quality art catalogue. We are seeking a skilled professional who can design the catalogue layout and copy edit the text to ensure accuracy, clarity, and a polished presentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience designing art, photography, or museum catalogues for print
- Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign (preferred) or equivalent design software
- A solid background in copy editing, preferably within the fine art or cultural sector
- Understanding of style guides (Chicago Manual of Style preferred) and art-specific terminology
- Ability to prepare print-ready files that meet commercial printing specifications
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
Scope of Work:
- Design the full layout of the catalogue, including cover, interior pages, typography, and image placement
- Copy edit all text for grammar, style consistency, and correct use of art terminology
- Coordinate text and image flow to create a visually compelling, easy-to-read layout
- Deliver both editable source files and final print-ready PDFs
- Provide proofs for review and revisions
Project Details:
- Approx. 50 pages
- Includes high-resolution artwork images and descriptive text
