Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Director, Planning, Design & Construction (Administrator II) to join our team at California State University, Fullerton. As a key member of our Capital Programs and Facilities Management (CPFM) senior leadership team, you will oversee the planning, design, and construction of university facilities, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and high-quality learning and working environment for our campus community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Planning, Design and Construction team
- Oversee all construction on campus, including planning and design phases
- Manage and monitor physical changes to university buildings and grounds
- Develop and implement inclusive campus planning efforts
- Interpret and enforce university, CSU, and state rules and regulations related to public works projects and building planning, design, and construction
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management
- 5+ years of management experience in planning, design, and construction management
- Professional experience in architecture and/or construction management
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a California registration as an engineer or architect, or certification as a construction manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, and procedures
- Experience in arbitration and mediation for claims resolution
