As a Lead Experience Designer focusing on Accessibility, you will be responsible for defining and scaling our inclusive design initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to elevate product quality, and empowering design teams to deliver innovative and accessible solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Empower design teams to build more inclusive end-to-end user experiences
- Contribute accessible UI components, patterns, and documentation to Airbnb's Design Language System
- Define and deliver scalable tooling and frameworks for designers to leverage, such as accessibility specs and annotations
- Close knowledge gaps and increase technical expertise within Design by facilitating workshops and inclusive design trainings
- Translate industry standards, like Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), into understandable and approachable deliverables
- Review designs, mockups, and prototypes throughout the product development cycle to increase quality and compliance
Your Expertise:
- 8+ years of professional experience in user experience and digital design
- Experience in inclusive design or accessibility, or with design language systems
- Proficiency designing across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Desktop, Mobile Web)
- Effective communication skills and ability to translate technical accessibility guidelines into persuasive practices
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguous environments and adapt to new challenges and working styles
- Understanding of assistive technologies and how users of assistive technology may be impacted by different design choices
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range: $174,000 - $209,000 USD
