About the position

    Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of 10+ direct reports within the Vector Biology group.
  • Oversee lentiviral vector (LVV) production to support internal research initiatives.
  • Provide conventional vector core services to internal stakeholders.
  • Drive early-stage process development for LVV manufacturing, including upstream, downstream, and analytical workflows.
  • Set strategic direction for LVV Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC).
  • Represent the Vector Biology team in cross-functional collaborations with Discovery Research, Early Drug Development (EDD), and Technical Development teams.
  • Lead internal and external technology transfers for LVV manufacturing.
    Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Virology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in cell and gene therapy, with a focus on viral vector production.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more direct reports.
  • Hands-on experience with LVV manufacturing using bioreactors and industrial-scale downstream processes.
  • Strong understanding of CMC requirements for viral vectors.
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in viral vector technologies.
  • Experience working with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).
  • Experience providing vector core services is a plus.
