About the position
- Responsibilities
- Support landscape-scale conservation efforts across the southern Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
- Conduct wildlife and habitat assessments, including spatial analyses.
- Develop and evaluate Wildlife and State Game Area Master Plans.
- Provide technical assistance on rare species and natural communities.
- Collaborate with division staff and external partners to implement conservation strategies.
- Support adaptive management and the implementation of the Wildlife Division's strategic plan.
- Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in natural resource science or biological science with at least 8 semester (12 term) credits in wildlife biology and 16 semester (24 term) credits in related fields.
- Wildlife Biologist 9: No specific type or amount of experience required.
- Wildlife Biologist 10: One year of professional experience equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist 9.
- Wildlife Biologist P11: Two years of professional experience equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist, including one year equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist 10.
- Wildlife Biologist 12: Three years of professional experience equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist, including one year equivalent to a Wildlife Biologist P11.
- Nice-to-haves

- Experience partnering with government and non-governmental agencies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
