Flux Accounting is a high-performing boutique firm based in Solana Beach, CA, serving a mix of small businesses and high-complexity individual clients. We’re known for our strategic thinking, exceptional accuracy, and client-first approach. Many of our clients operate across multiple states and require advanced tax planning.

We’re hiring a Senior Tax Associate to take the lead on complex returns, support clients with tax strategy, and collaborate with our internal team. This is a full-time, year-round role best suited for someone with 5+ years of experience and a strong handle on multi-state and business tax filings.

Prepare and review individual, S Corp, C Corp, and partnership tax returns
Handle multi-state filings, complex ownership structures, and planning
Communicate directly with clients about strategy and filing issues.
Assist junior team members when needed.
Identify and resolve potential compliance and planning concerns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and tax standards.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; EA or CPA certification required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
Deep knowledge of multi-state tax compliance and small business tax.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience using tax preparation software such as ProConnect, Lacerte, or similiar.
