Job Description
Burson is a global communications leader that helps brands redefine their reputation. They are seeking an Account Executive to support integrated communications programs for health and wellness clients, focusing on pharmaceutical brands, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality programs that meet client objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management of integrated health and wellness accounts, with a primary focus on pharmaceutical clients, ensuring work is delivered on time, on strategy, and to the highest quality standards
- Assist in the planning and execution of comprehensive communications programs, including earned media, corporate communications, brand storytelling, executive visibility, product communications, and issues management
- Draft, edit, and proofread a wide range of client materials such as press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, backgrounders, fact sheets, Q&As, presentations, internal communications, and campaign recaps
- Coordinate project workflows across internal teams including media relations, creative, strategy, digital, and analytics, to ensure seamless integration and alignment across channels
- Manage timelines, trackers, and status reports to keep account leads informed and projects moving efficiently
- Support Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes by preparing materials, submitting documents, tracking feedback, and managing approvals in compliance with FDA and client requirements
- Participate in client calls and meetings, assisting with agenda development, note-taking, action items, and follow-up communications
- Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and competitor activity; support the development of media reports and insights that inform ongoing strategy
- Help maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving
- Stay current on healthcare, pharmaceutical, and wellness trends, as well as evolving communications best practices, to contribute informed ideas and perspectives to the team
Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in public relations, communications, or account management, ideally within an agency environment
- Exposure to or strong interest in health, wellness, pharmaceutical, or life sciences communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or regulated information into clear, compelling narratives
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, client-service environment
- Experience supporting or working within cross-functional teams, including media relations, creative, and digital
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and basic project management tools
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow within a global agency environment
- Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization and actively contribute to team culture, training opportunities, and employee resource groups
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, FDA guidelines, or MLR review processes is strongly preferred
