Job Description
Gemini, Inc. is a leader in the signage manufacturing industry, and they are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting the Finance Department's daily performance and processes, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP, and partnering with manufacturing facilities for month-end activities and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Maintain the general ledger and related systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Assisting in preparing financial statements, cost reports and operational analysis
- Support inventory accounting processes, including perpetual inventory tracking and product costing
- Help develop and communicate cost allocations across departments
- Perform treasury functions processing wire transfers and ACH payments
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast updates
- Prepare and file Sales & Use tax returns for U.S and Canadian jurisdictions
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals and depreciation tracking
- Support regulatory and government reporting, including Census filings
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging LEAN principles
- Prepare and distribute daily sales reporting and provide insights to business partners
- Provide data analysis and reporting support to cross-functional business partners
- Assist with external audit requests and tax-related documentation requests
- Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 1-3 years of related accounting experience
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and month-end close processes
- Experience supporting inventory accounting and controls; exposure to manufacturing environments is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to research and resolve accounting issues effectively
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative working relationships across departments and with external partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify trends and think critically about financial data
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or operations-focused environment preferred but not required
